The first edition of Mandu Festival 2019 (Mandu Utsav) was recently concluded in the Mandu city after being held from 28 December 2019 to 1 January 2020.
Organized by Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board and curated, managed by E-Factor Entertainment (P) Ltd, this five day long mega event saw a mix of cultural performances, heritage walks and adventure activities like ATV bike, Paragliding, rifle shooting, parasailing, Hot Air Ballooning to name a few, in an effort to rediscover and celebrate the quaint and historic city of Mandu.
Programmes beginning daily at 6.00 AM by Hot Air Ballooning and concluding by 9.00 PM by laser shows, saw host of other exciting activities to fill the itinerary for the participants like Hop-on Hop-off Bus tours in 3 categories ( History & Architecture, Photography & Cinematography and The Love Story of Rani Roopmati- Baz Bahadur), Mandu Heritage Walks, Mandu Instagram Tour (with a personal professional photographer), Malipur Horse Trail & Rural Tourism Excursions, Morning Yoga Sessions at Caravan Sarai and musical performances by entities like Indian Ocean, Prem Joshua, Navraj Hans, Antariksh etc.
Various potters, painters, weavers and other artists also displayed their art installations, showcasing Madhya Pradesh’s ancient art and craft at a specially created art district.
The theme of the festival was “Khojne Mai Kho Jao” and saw various other unique activities like ‘Adopt a Baobab tree’ campaign, Nukkad Nataks, Movie Screenings, Mandu ki Dhun, to name a few. The arrangements for accommodations were done in tent settings and gave a feel of ‘Luxury Glamping’ to the visitors.
